Little Dame is proud to host Mickey Alice Kwapis for three amazing taxidermy classes on April 29th, 30th and May 1st. Find out more and sign up here!

Friday, April 29th at 6 pm - Learn how to taxidermy a small bird. A variety of birds will be provided, including budgies, chicks, ducklings, and quail depending on natural-death availability from breeders. In the event that natural death animals are not available, we will use feeder bird specimens and repurpose the meat afterwards. We will cover skinning, cleaning, prepping, form wrapping, head reconstruction, sewing, posing, grooming, and aftercare. You will leave with your own finished bird. Allow two weeks to dry before displaying or giving as a gift.

Saturday, April 30th at 10 am - Learn how to taxidermy a lifesize (full-body) rat. A variety of colors of rats will be provided. We will use feeder rat specimens and repurpose the meat and bones afterwards. This workshop will cover skinning, cleaning, prepping, form wrapping, carving of heads from two-part foam using the skull as reference, sewing, posing, grooming, and aftercare. You will leave with your own finished rat, which you can dress up in doll clothes or pose in a natural way. Allow two weeks to dry before displaying or giving as a gift.

Sunday, May 1st at 10 am - Learn how to taxidermy a half-size rabbit on a plaque. A variety of colors of rabbits will be provided. We will use feeder rabbit specimens and repurpose the meat and bones afterwards. This workshop will cover skinning, cleaning, prepping, form wrapping, carving of heads from two-part foam using the skull as reference, sewing any holes, mounting to a plaque, posing, grooming, and aftercare. You will leave with your own finished rabbit. Allow two weeks to dry before displaying or giving as a gift.
